i dont really know what the difference is, but i guess the basic because i just want a mechanical alpha black, no electronic one.

the only difference is that the basic doesnt come with the stock and shroud. the tactical does. the tactical is the military lokking one. i know someone who might be willing to sell. i could get back to you

well in that case, i would want the tactical, i was the one with the stock and shroud. and if your friend is looking to sell, is it the tactical, and how much?

I've been running the Techt paddles in my A-5 without any problems.I've never had a ball break in the cyclone.Maybe Runyan just had a bad set of paddles. You do need to have the telfon washer under them or they will drag and that could lead to the paddles rounding out on the axle and if that happens then they are gone.

For a good while I ran the J&J barrel but have gone back to my smart parts Linear barrel.Plan to stick with it for now anyway. For the money I think the smarts are as good if not better than the J&J barrels.

you can find my rants on here pretty easy about the paddles ... but ... paddles are quite simply the best upgrade i did to my a-5 ... i have not had a single break in almost 2 months of playing every weekend since i installed them .. before that i was breaking a ball almost every GAME

hey man i've used tech t for some time now and i havn't had any problems with them at all. And yes dot mess with your gun if it wasn't broke thats when you start messing sh** up. The only thing you should do is upgrade your cylcone all the way but if you dont have the money just go with the paddles. And remember grease your ratchet if you put the tech t vortex mod in. Metal on metal with no lube you tell me whats going to happen.

There are 2 versions of the soft paddles out there...and if you're not careful you can buy the version 1 that doesn't have any form of locking between the layers. And as people find out when the 2 layers get out of sync you'll end up with cyclone problems.

I had a version 1, but I managed to lock the 2 layers together with small nails coming up from the bottom layer. All worked great until the paddles lost their lock on the middle spindle and got out of sync with the power tube...ie chopping balls.

Some of the cheaper paddles are completely pointless, having no stability at all, so be on your guard. Many vendors (ebay especially) are selling lots of crap.

Its best that you buy the paddles from somewhere where you can physically touch them and feel just how rigid they are. I bought a great set that have not given me any issues from BEL.

There is also a soft paddle from Rufus Dawg Cyclone Raps $20.99 that looks to be one solid piece.Have not seen these in use yet nor do I know anyone who has them. But being one piece should be a plus.Check them out at rufusdawg.com

i am getting the alpha black with e trigger, since the AB doesnt have a.c.t. does anyone know if it is possible to take the bolt out of my 98 and put it in the alpha black since the one from my 98 has a.c.t.?
